What is an Intention?
Intention is your SUPERPOWER. Additionally, intentions command energy to move a certain way for a specific outcome, effectively making your will be done.
To illustrate this concept, let’s consider a child jumping on a stomp rocket.
- Firstly, the force of a child’s body transfers to the air pump, exerting pressure on the rocket
- Consequently, the pressure facilitates the rocket’s flight into the air
- Subsequently, the air holds the force as oxygen
- Then, the oxygen turns into the fuel that the child breathes
- Last but not least, the child’s breath, creates energy for their body to stomp on the rocket
- Thus, creating a perpetual cycle
So, this simple example is proof that your intention is necessary to consciously direct energy to create what you want to experience.
Is Intention Alone Enough to Manifest Your Dreams?
A remarkable study explains how our intention affects our material world. Cell biologist Dr. Glen Rein at The HeartMath Research Center in Boulder Creek, CA proved out a specific link between our emotional state and our heart centered intentions.
In this groundbreaking study, three controlled groups of healers actively participated. Each group held a file containing a DNA sample in deionized water to meticulously observe how intentions could potentially change DNA structures.
- The first group held the sample without setting an intention (thought), while being instructed to evoke feelings of love (emotion), and no change occurred in the DNA samples.
- The second group, instructed to evoke feelings of love (emotion), also set the intention (thought) to either wind or unwind the DNA structure. This changed the shape of the DNA samples by up to 25%!
- The third group held a clear intention (thought) to either wind or unwind the DNA structure without entering a positive emotional state (emotion). There were no changes to the DNA structures.
Only when subjects held heightened emotions, coupled with a clear thought intention, did the DNA material change structure.
What Does This Prove About How to Set Intentions?
An intention connects the human body to a directed desire, energetically. Moreover, the emotion moves the desire into physical form.
To simplify this, we can define e-motion as energy in motion. In this dynamic process, the heart (representing emotion) and mind (representing thought) collaborate seamlessly to bring about a new state of being.
This integration of the heart and mind, often referred to as brain and heart coherence by Dr. Joe Dispensa, plays a crucial role in this transformative process. Many of you may already be familiar with his insightful work.
Intention (thought) + E-motion = New State of Being
If a state of being can wind and unwind a strand of DNA in under 2 minutes, it strongly suggests that we hold the remarkable ability to create our own reality. Or at least co-create it.
This compelling evidence indicates that for intentions to seamlessly transition into physical form, it is imperative to set them with high-vibrational emotions such as love, joy, and gratitude.
Intentions Versus Goals
I get asked ALL the time if intentions are goals. My short and concise answer is no, intentions are not goals.
Goals:
- Future focused
- Center around achievement
- Create self-imposed deadlines, expectations and measurements of what “success” looks like
- Rooted in illusion
On the other hand, Intentions:
- Present focused
- Do not emit deadlines, pressure or a ‘winning or losing’ mindset
- Keep us aligned with our heart centered core values and what really matters in life
- Rooted in truth
Goals are future-focused, creating a time gap separation between you and your desire. However, there needs to be zero time gap separation between you and your goal in order for manifestation to occur. Now, this is precisely where intentions come in.
In summary, intentions empower you to BE in the present moment, fully embodying who you aspire to become, without a time gap.
My Results
After learning how to set intentions from my mentor, the transformation in my life became remarkably evident. For me personally, I used to be AFRAID! I was afraid to use my voice, say what I really wanted to say, and ruffle feathers.
I wanted so badly to share my message with the world, to impact more people, and to activate the healing powers in others that were being unlocked within me, but I felt paralyzed because the fear was so strong.
Setting Intentions allowed me to:
- Face my fears – I started public speaking, and my hives went away completely
- Heal my endometriosis
- Conceive 2 children after being told I was infertile
- Manifest 2 cars
- Manifest my dream vacation to the Maldives
- Fill my books with soul clients doing what I love – healing & teaching
- Manifest podcast interviews
- And so much more!
How to Create Intentions
Before diving into the art of setting intentions, it’s crucial to lay the foundation by creating intentions, first.
- Be specific
- You have to know what you want in order to call it in.
- Use present tense
- Remember, the power is in the present moment, so using future tense magnifies separation between you and your intention. Focus on setting intentions in the present tense so there is zero separation between you and your intention.
- Be clear
- For example, “I am a Hay House award winning author helping thousands of people heal all across the world.”
By incorporating these steps, you lay the groundwork for effective intention setting.
How to Set Intentions
Now it is time to learn how to set intentions, so they actually manifest. This can be done in 3 simple steps. While my comprehensive approach is detailed in my signature course, Reiki Fulfilled, I’ll stick to the basics for simplicity in this post.
- Declare your intention from your heart, versus your mind.
- This step creates the electrical connection to your new reality.
- Immerse yourself in the feelings of already having your intention fulfilled. Whether it’s gratitude, joy, peace, fulfillment, love, or impact, allow yourself to marinate in these emotions for at least 2 minutes.
- This step is pivotal as it magnetizes your intention to you.
- Allow magnetization to occur. Source will orchestrate the right people, places, circumstances for you.
- While many find this to be the most challenging part due to a desire for control, exercising patience is key. If opportunities are not materializing, consider trying another intention that resonates more deeply with you.
